Solutions by Carrick use two main pieces of open source software, these are Prestashop, and Joomla. These two pieces of software are database driven, this offers an advantage over normal web design in that all pages are stored in the database as information and this information is pulled out of the database when a user requests it. The basics of this, is that only a template needs to be applied to the website and all information is generated within the template meaning that the template can be change whenever the client requires it without the need to change ever page. Another advantage of the database driven website is that the client can make simple changes to any content using a simple web interface without calling us back in.
